Use one password for a proposal and its supporting files. The password applies to previews and original downloads, including direct file links.
Static websites and HTML pages
Add a password to a client preview before launch. It protects the page and its assets on your Flat address and custom domain.
What your recipient sees
The link opens a password form. After entering the password, your client can read the document or use the website. The browser remembers their access for return visits.

Set a password as you publish through the CLI. Replace the example password and file path with your own. See the password setup guide for details.

Publish with a password
Use a folder path for a website or collection. Send the resulting link and password to your audience.

Set or replace an existing password
Find your upload's ID in the dashboard, then use it to update the password.

Can I remove the password later?
Yes. Run npx -y @getflat/cli deployment update DEPLOYMENT_ID --remove-password.
